Ashford’s live music scene is under the spotlight once again this October as Create Music Village returns with a month of gigs and events highlighting the town’s grass roots venues.
Now in its fourth year, Create 25 will showcase Ashford’s diverse venues, welcoming a mix of international names, local acts, exciting workshops and free events.
This year’s live music includes the triumphant return of both national treasure Shaun Williamson aka Barrioke and dance floor fillers Deptford Northern Soul Club, along with Nashville legends Hayseed Dixie and local favourites including Robin Mack and Sidetracked.
Create Music Village consists of core live music venues Revelation, Low Key Taproom and Coachworks and some of the town’s most interesting spaces including The Ashford Cinema, RG Studios, The Elwick Club, L2D Studios, Made in Ashford and Ashford Bandstand.
Brand new programme highlights for 2025 are the Ashford Young DJ Competition, a chance for young people to hit the decks to compete live at Coachworks for some great prizes and a one-off collaboration with Screen Ashford, offering musicians the opportunity to create a music video and see it on the big screen.
Marking Black History Month, there’s a day of market stalls and DJs on Saturday 25 October at Coachworks, celebrating the best of local black business, plus a special screening of The Summer of Soul at The Ashford Cinema on Saturday 4 October.
Head to Ashford Bandstand on Saturday 20 September for some free prelaunch performances and an exclusive DJ set from Simon Rosenburg, host of the Ashford Young DJ Competition.
Create Music Village 2025 is made possible by funding from sponsors including Ashford Borough Council and Ashford Designer Outlet.
