Smarden is a beautiful Kentish village. All of the main street is a conservation area with houses of historical and architectural interest. A visit to Smarden and the Christmas Fair is a worthwhile outing for all ages. 25 stalls - charities and craftspeople, with an extensive range of Christmas cards, decorations and gifts - in plenty of time to get organised for Christmas. There will be all kinds of sewing and crochet, children’s clothes and books, puppets; eco food wraps, tea towels, tote bags, jewellery, paintings, scented candles, soaps, bird boxes, polished wood gifts, home-made ice creams, and much more.
Charities in attendance typically are: Breast Cancer Kent, Canine Partners, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Hi Kent, MS Therapy Centre, RABI, Rolvenden Cat Rescue, and Smarden Local History Society.
Bring cash as not all stallholders can take card payment. The raffle is for a hamper worth £50 with all kinds of delectables provided by Smarden Community Store. Afternoon teas by Smarden Women's institute.
