After a busy morning exploring there's nothing better than stumbling upon a cosy cafe or tea shop where you can relax, refuel and watch the world go by for an hour or two - and here in Ashford & Tenterden you won't be disappointed.
Whether you've been for a morning stroll with your furry four-legged friend, indulged in a bit of retail therapy, enjoyed discovering new places or meeting with friends for a natter there's plenty of places to choose from.
Ashford is equally welcoming with independent cafes - why not try Stag Coffee and Cafe Madeleine. Church View Tea Rooms also offers a traditional afternoon tea. The Ashford Designer Outlet is also home to Lost Sheep Cafe and Patisserie Valerie who have a scrumptious selection of cakes. And just a little way out of town you will find The Bybrook Pavilion. Bloss is Ashford’s new coffee roasters, they roast, brew and sell coffee inside their roastery. You can pop in and enjoy a coffee as well as take a bag of beans home with you.
Our lovely villages offer a host of quaint and inviting stop offs; Biddenden is home to The Bakehouse, Shelly's Tea Rooms is set in the heart of Chilham and The Cosy Kettle at Hamstreet is a good spot for coffee, lunch or afternoon tea.
We really are spoilt for choice and this is just a small selection of what's on offer, take a look at our wider selection of coffee and cake stops in our two towns and dozens of villages.
