Kent and East Sussex Railway

Family fun on the Kent and East Sussex Railway this half term with "Kids Go Free" offer. (T's & C's apply.)

Whatever the weather, the journey will provide plenty to keep kids smiling. Everyone can turn Nature Detective with free nature-spotting fact sheets as the steam hauled trains travel through the stunning Rother Valley, a designated National Landscape

Popular children's character Bluey is set to join the fun on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th February (not included in "Kids Go Free" offer).

County Square Shopping Centre are hosting two FREE and fun events! Craft Workshop on 18th Feb 10am-3pm and Face Painting Pop Up on 20th February 10am-3pm in the Main Square by Costa Coffee.  No booking required, but these are very popular events so it's advised that you arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Please note all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Rare Breeds Centre

At The Rare Breeds Centre you'll find 100 acres of beautiful farm to explore; a perfect family day out. Meet The Animals open all year round, plus indoor play and outdoor adventure playgrounds.

Enjoy Princess Day on 15th - Take part in a magical farm trail where there’s lots of clues and challenges to test your little one’s royal skills, head to the gift shop when you have finished to claim your prize.

Port Lympne Reserve

Visit Port Lympne for an authentic safari in the Kent countryside and come face-to-face with giraffes, zebras, rhinos, ostriches and many more incredible species at the largest wildlife park in Kent this February half term.

Home to the county’s only spectacled bears as well as gorillas, tigers, wolves, monkeys and many more endangered animals. Step back in time when you enter Dinosaur Forest to meet life-sized prehistoric creatures lurking in the 3 acre woodland, or for some really wild half term activities check out our exciting animal encounters to make your visit even more special!

Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway

Head to Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway this half term (18th - 20th and 22nd - 23rd Feb), for some great family fun!

Known as “Kent’s Mainline in Miniature”, the world famous one-third full size steam & diesel locomotives power their way along the 13½ miles of track from the Cinque Port town of Hythe, terminating in Dungeness; a National Nature Reserve. With 4 stations in between, all within walking distance of a beach.  

Tenterden Heritage Trail

Blow the cobwebs away in historic Tenterden “Jewel of the Weald” with this self-guided walking trail.  The trail details Tenterden’s origins, intriguing architecture and 18 fascinating and prominent buildings, with a map listing their locations. The trail steers you around well-known parts of the High Street as well as some less familiar lanes.

Ashford Heritage Trail

The Ashford Heritage Trail begins in the heart of the historic churchyard that houses Ashford Museum and the picturesque St Mary’s Church. Visitors can see the beautiful Edwardian architecture in North Street, Victoria Park Grade II* listed Fountain, a World War I tank and much more.

With history round every corner, there’s lots to discover in Ashford.

Kent Wildlife Trust have masses of ideas for keeping the children interested in Wildlife. Visit their website for lots of ideas on things to make and do, from building a bat box to creating a herb garden.
